MindanaoToday.com | 65 Davao Police Officers Reassigned Outside Mindanao
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A total of 65 police officers from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) have been transferred to posts outside Mindanao, igniting discussions about whether the move is tied to ongoing political tensions in the country.
The reassignment, authorized by special orders from Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil and endorsed by Police Major General Alan Okubo, comes at a time when relations between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former President Rodrigo Duterte appear strained.
The abrupt nature of the transfer has caught many officers by surprise. “It was completely unexpected. We have no idea what triggered this, but there’s nothing we can do,” said one officer, who preferred to remain anonymous.
With many unanswered questions, the situation is expected to evolve, drawing further public attention.
