2,862 grantees receive support via OFOP program in MisOcc

The Asenso Pamilya program, a cornerstone of the province’s commitment to education and empowerment, offers grantees the opportunity to pursue either vocational or tertiary education. Each beneficiary receives a P5,000 monthly stipend throughout the semester, amounting to a total of P25,000 per semester.

Oaminal, a long-time advocate for education as a tool for societal progress, emphasized the importance of these programs in shaping a brighter future for Misamis Occidental.

“Investing in education is investing in the future of our province,” he said. “When we equip our people with the skills and knowledge they need, we are giving them the tools to succeed and break the cycle of poverty.”

Oaminal reinforced his commitment to continuing these initiatives, highlighting that empowering individuals through education and professional development is key to long-term success.

“This initiative is about creating lasting opportunities for families to thrive,” he explained. “Through education and professional skills, we are ensuring that Misamisnon families can rise above challenges and build a better future for themselves.”

For many of the recipients, the ceremony was not only a moment of financial relief but also a symbol of hope. One recipient shared how the program would allow them to pursue vocational training, ultimately improving their skills and livelihood.
