The Misamis Oriental Provincial Peace and Order Council has intensified its focus on the growing illegal drug problem in the province following a continued rise in reported cases.
Juliette Uy expressed concern that individuals involved in drug-related activities now cut across different age groups, including students and senior citizens. The governor emphasized the need for stronger attention and coordinated action from authorities, particularly to protect the youth and communities at the grassroots level.
“…Illegal drugs continues to threaten our communities.
Governor Uy called on the Philippine National Police and local government units to closely monitor municipalities and strengthen intervention efforts, noting that drug distribution has increasingly involved younger individuals within communities.
