MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN – A total of P5,807,960 worth of wages were released by the Department of Labor and Employment-10 (DOLE-10) to the 1,357 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged workers (TUPAD) program beneficiaries during a series of payout on 8-11 July 2024, all over the island-province.
Arlyn Bael, DOLE-10 Camiguin provincial field office chief, said the week-long payout was supported by Rep. Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo, and other local officials from the five municipalities of the province.
She said the beneficiaries were assigned to El Niño-related activities, like tree planting, cleaning and irrigation for 10 days’ worth P428 per day. As recorded, there were 321 beneficiaries from the municipality of Mahinog; Guinsiliban (145); Sagay (208), Catarman (313), and Mambajao (370).
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers or marginalized workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 90 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
