CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – This city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) was nominated in the Search for Best PESO national level under the highly urbanized city category during the 24th National PESO Congress currently held in Zamboanga City, which runs from Oct. 16 to 19, 2024.
Receiving the award was Kathleen Kate Sorilla, PESO manager, in behalf of the city after the announcement was made that PESO-Cagayan de Oro was one of the nominees.
This award is in line with the intention of the city government Oro under the administration of Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy with the strong support of the Department of Labor and Employment-10, for expanded services in employment facilitation, job referral and placements, career guidance, employment coaching and other livelihood opportunities.
This year’s PESO congress has the theme, “PESO: Strengthened and Strengthened Response to the Challenge of the New Philippines.” (AGP | Cagayan de Oro City Information Office)
CADAC TWG visits Oro villages under the drug-clearing program
Meanwhile, the CADAC technical working group (TWG) visited the Cagayan de Oro City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, which is composed of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Division-Oro Wellness Center, Department of the Interior and Local Government-10 (DILG-10), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-10 (PDEA-10), PNP-Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, and Department of Education (DepEd-10) in Barangays 18, 22, and 24.
It aims to accelerate the results of the implementation, and to weigh the readiness for the preparation of documents regarding the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) in target barangays for drug clearing in the year 2024.
The CADAC TWG discloses acceleration of proper action to be taken and punctured time according to BDCP, anti-illegal drugs activities, and preventive education.
In addition, the TWG revealed that the council is ready to provide additional assistance to the barangays in terms of enforcement operations and barangay empowerment.
This is TWG’s first visit this month.
