CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police offices in Northern Mindanao need of 235 more personnel to fill new plantilla positions and vacancies to bolster their operational capabilities, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) disclosed this on Tuesday, March 10.
Napolcom’s announcement of 92 regular and 142 attrition quota for Police Regional Office 10 came just days before examinations for applicants on March 16 to 19 this year. Those from Region 10, these will be in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities.
Nationwide, the Philippine National Police (PNP) would be hiring 6,178 for its police offices across 18 regions and 946 more for 18 national operational support units (Nosu). Of the 6,178 vacancies, 1,700 items are regular quota while 4,478 are attrition quota.
Among the 18 Nosu – also with regular and attrition quota — are the PNP Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup), PNP Maritime Group, Special Action Force (SAF), and the Civilian Investigation and Detection Group (CIDLG).
Regular quota refers to new permanent positions created backed by regular appropriations while attrition quota are the vacancies due to retirement from the service, deaths prior to retirement age, transfers to other agencies, resignations, and dismissals.
Although applications with required submissions are being processed by the Napolcom 10 office in this city, walk-in applicants would be allowed, according to the Napolcom advisory. – Uriel Quilinguing
