A tragic car accident late Wednesday, November 20, claimed the life of 67-year-old Emilyn Pagaling, just hours after arriving from the U.S. for a vacation.
The crash occurred at 11:58 p.m. along Diversion Road, Barangay Barra, Opol. Pagaling, a former agricultural engineer from Malaybalay City, was in a Ford Expedition with her husband, daughter, and three minors when it collided with a speeding Ford Everest driven by a 17-year-old minor.
Pagaling succumbed to her injuries in the hospital, while the other passengers sustained injuries. Initial investigations revealed the minor driver entered the road recklessly.
Pagaling’s son, Dr. Rey Jude Pagaling, expressed his grief online, lamenting the loss of his mother to reckless driving.
Authorities are investigating and have yet to announce charges against the minor driver.
