THE Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) have formally announced their alliance on 06 October 2024 at the PFP General Assembly in Davao City, signifying an important shift in the Bangsamoro Region’s political scene ahead of the 2025 elections.
The coalition brings together two major political entities, joining the administration’s vision of progress, development, and lasting peace in Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte.
The alliance enjoys the backing of prominent local politicians, including the Midtimbang, Mastura, Sinsuat, Mangudadatu, and Ampatuan families, showcasing a united front among key stakeholders in the region.
Further solidifying its position, the alliance also has the support of notable figures in Bangsamoro politics, such as BARMM Chief Minister and MILF Chairman Ahod “Murad” Ebrahim, Maguindanao del Norte Governor Abdulraof Macacua, Bai Sandra Sema, and former Maguindanao Governor Ishmael “Toto” Mangudadatu.
Tucao Mastura has been chosen as the candidate for Governor of Maguindanao del Norte, while Datu Ali Midtimbang, Sr. will run as Governor of Maguindanao del Sur. The alliance is also supporting former Maguindanao Governor Toto Mangudadatu, who is running for a congressional seat in Maguindanao del Sur.
Special Assistant to the President Secretary Antonio Lagdameo, Jr. underscored the importance of this partnership, highlighting its role in harmonizing local governance with the national agenda under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
With a focus on critical issues such as governance, peacebuilding, efficient delivery of services, and economic development, the PFP-UBJP alliance is strategically positioned to address long-standing concerns and champion essential reforms aimed at improving the lives of the Bangsamoro people. (PR)
