IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon – The Impasugong municipality recently celebrated its 147th Aldaw Ta Impasugong by honoring senior citizens while showcasing its vibrant culture and tourism.
The theme “Kultura ug Turismo Ipasigarbo, Padayon Serbisyong MAGBULIGA KUY” highlighted the importance of preserving the rich heritage and reinforcing community unity.
Known as the tribal capital of Bukidnon and home of the country’s finest cowboys, Impasugong takes pride in its deep cultural roots and strong identity.
This year’s celebration went beyond the usual festivities, highlighting and recognizing the invaluable contributions of the senior citizens over the years.
In a heartfelt ceremony, 100-year-old Nanay Elina Hulagpay received a P50,000 cash subsidy through the Milestone Benefits Program. Seven other seniors, aged 90 and above, were honored with P25,000 each, reflecting the local government’s commitment to its elderly population.
Nanay Elina, who has experienced a century of change, embodies the resilience and strength that define Impasugong. Her life story, deeply connected to the town’s history, serves as a powerful symbol of its evolution.
“Magamit namo ning ayuda gikan sa gobyerno pampalit dugang sa among maintenance nga tambal,” she said.

The cash grants, part of the Milestone Benefits Program, provide financial assistance and recognition to senior citizens for their pivotal role in shaping Impasugong’s identity and legacy. Local officials emphasized the importance of honoring the elderly during the “Aldaw Ta Impasugong” celebration, reinforcing their essential contributions to the community.
“While we celebrate our culture and tourism, we must also honor those who have carried our traditions and values through generations. Our senior citizens are the foundation of our community. Without them, we would not have the rich heritage we celebrate today,” said Mayor Anthony Uy during the ceremony.
